Our Story

We, Zoé and Marit, are classmates but mainly friends that share a deep love for the water. Surfing, diving or snorkelling, it doesn’t matter as long as we are in, near or on the water. 
 
We are third-year students enrolled in the bachelor Global Project and Change Management at Windesheim Honours College (Zwolle, The Netherlands). A study that focuses on international projects that tackle worldwide sustainability challenges.  Our study consists of 8 semesters where Value Creators is one of them. In this semester we are prepared to become the future change agents that contribute to a sustainable world in collaboration with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
 
When the opportunity came to create value in a field of interest and to tackle a complex issue, we knew straight away that we wanted to do something to increase the often-underestimated value of water andput our passion for the sea in good use. 
We know deep inside us that our health is impacted by the ocean: we are happier, more connected, and overall healthier when near, in or under the sea.
But do many other know as well?
 
We wanted to further dive into the topic of blue health and the impact the sea has on humans (as well as the other way around) as there is a lack of awareness around the value of the water world. 
 
We noticed the struggles of students and young adults around the Netherlands. Life is not always about roses and sunshine, it can be stressful and lonely at times. With our personal experience and relation with the sea, and the way it helped us to get through difficult moments, we wanted to share the positive effects it can create.
